Darrius Heyward-Bey returned to the practice field Tuesday for the Oakland Raiders, according to ComcastSports Bay Area's Paul Gutierrez.

Heyward-Bey was taking part in some light jogging in his first work since suffering a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers a couple of weeks ago.

It still could be some time before Heyward-Bey is ready to resume playing in games, but the return to even light work on the practice field is a step in the right direction.
