The New England Patriots re-signed running back Kevin Faulk, the team announced.
It's a one-year contract that includes a $1 million signing bonus and a $1 million base salary in addition to incentive clauses that could boost the total value of the deal to $3 million, per a league source.
Faulk also drew lesser offers from the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles, two teams that both could use some depth at running back.
Faulk is entering his 12th season with the Patriots.
The Patriots utilize Faulk as a third-down back.
He rushed for 335 yards and two touchdowns last season, also catching 37 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown.
For his career, Faulk has rushed for 3,505 yards and 16 touchdowns with 418 receptions for 4,605 yards and 15 touchdowns.
