The Detroit Lions are signing veteran cornerback Rashean Mathis to a one-year contract.

Mathis started 13 games last season for the Lions and recorded 47 tackles with no interceptions.

He's the Jacksonville Jaguars' all-time leader with 30 career interceptions.

Mathis replaced Darius Slay as a starter last season.

For his career, he has 565 tackles, 98 pass deflections and six forced fumbles.
