Top Class of 2014 running back Sony Michel will make his college destination known when he announces his future plans Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
Will top Class of 2014 RB Sony Michel choose to play his college ball at Georgia?
Michel will choose between Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami (FL) and Notre Dame.
The five-star product from American Heritage High School (Plantation, FL), who is considered a Georgia lean by some recruiting analysts, has very good vision, patience and speed along with deceptive power and good inside toughness.
The 5-11, 194-pounder was ranked No. 3 in my initial list of the Top 25 prospects in the Class of 2014, a set of rankings released in February that will be updated next week here at the National Football Post.
Michel has been highly sought since he rushed for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns as an eighth grader and 1,730 yards and 21 scores as a freshman. However, he tore his ACL and missed his entire sophomore season.
During the 2012 campaign, though, he recorded over 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground with a much lighter workload. He has put to rest any concerns about his health, and whichever program lands him will get a real game-breaker immediately when he steps on campus.
UPDATE: Michel committed to Georgia, which is a big "get" for the Bulldogs as head coach Mark Richt and Co. were able to land arguably the best offensive player from the state of Florida in the 2014 class.
