The Minnesota Vikings interviewed Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for the second time Tuesday.

Regarded as the frontrunner for the job, Zimmer met with team officials.

Later Tuesday night, Zimmer told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune he hadn't been offered the job yet.

Zimmer hasn't been a head coach, but has been a defensive coordinator with the Bengals, Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys.

The Vikings ranked last in the NFL in total defense last season.

The Bengals finished third under total defense under Zimmer's direction.
