The New England Patriots' dramatic overtime victory was defined by quarterback Tom Brady's strong right arm.

Brady overcame a 24-point deficit before Peyton Manning forced overtime with a late touchdown pass.

The game was ultimately decided by a 31-yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal after Tony Carter allowed a football to bounce off his leg on a punt and Nate Ebner recovered.

"What a crazy game, and what a fun finish," Gostkowski said.

The Patriots trailed 24-0 at halftime.

"You can't move the ball when you're losing it," coach Bill Belichick said. "You've got to hang on to it."

The Broncos squandered their lead, fumbling three times in the second half.

"It was really a tale of two halves," Broncos interim coach Jack Del Rio said. "We forced turnovers and jumped on them early. They forced turnovers and jumped on us at the end. We just had a fluke play at the end."
