Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden is likely earning brownie points with his players.
Instead of partaking in the final minicamp practice this week, Gruden gave his players the day off, sending them home ot be with their families until training camp rolls around in late July.
Not many teams would do this for their players, so Redskins players should consider themselves fortunate.
“The players’ standpoint, they have to continue to train and work on their own hopefully. Most of them are professionals and they’ll do that,” Gruden said, via CSNWashington.com. “We’ll see when they come to camp. They should be in good shape but we’re still going to keep in touch, close contact with our strength coaches. They’ll have programs for them and hopefully they will do their work. And that’s what being a pro is all about."
The Redskins will get back together on July 24 in Richmond for training camp.
