The Cleveland Browns have no plans to draft Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, according to FOX Sports.
Per the report, owner Jimmy Haslam won't force the issue even though he's a proponent of Manziel.
"ESPN reported all night that the Cleveland Browns are taking Johnny Manziel, and I'm here to tell you they are not,'' Glazer said on Fox Sports Radio. "NFL Network came out and said 'well Jimmy Haslam has told everybody in the room that he wants it to happen.'
"That has not happened. In fact, it's the other way. Jimmy Haslam has walked into the Browns' draft room and said 'hey guys, this is not what I do for a living, it's what you do for a living. Whatever you do I trust.' There's not been some edict like that. I have no idea where that came from, but that's not happening.''
ESPN didn't actually report that the Browns are a lock to draft Manziel.
The network reported that the Browns may draft Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson or trade back.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Haslam insisted at the NFL owners meetings that he won't force the Browns hand.
"Zero chance,'' Haslam said. "We will have so many conversations between now and the draft about who we’re picking. That’s what getting ready is all about. That’s what [general manager] Ray (Farmer) and his group are focused on, and we’ll all participate. [Browns coach] Mike (Pettine) will play a key role in that, too.”
