The Colts have had a bad start to training camp injury wise.

According to, offensive guard Donald Thomas tore his quadricep during practice on Wednesday. With the injury serious, he will be out indefinitely and could sit for the entire 2014 season. A season ago, Thomas missed 14 games as a result of a quadricep tear.

This has to be a frustrating time for Thomas, to experience the same injury two years in a row. He'll have surgery to repair the damage on the same quad he injured in 2013.

This injury follows the one that happened to running back Vick Ballard, who tore his Achilles.

With Thomas out, rookie Jack Mewhort will likely step into a starting role.
