Sam Bradford will not be ready to throw at the scouting combine. Jimmy Clausen isn’t prepared to work out for teams. Now, Dan LeFevour has announced he will not throw in Indianapolis.
The Central Michigan quarterback told NFL Draft Bible that he will wait until his pro day to throw but will “be doing (pretty much) everything except throwing at the combine.”
It leaves teams wanting to evaluate the top quarterbacks in the draft with at least a little left to the imagination.
“I will focus solely on throwing at pro day,” LeFevour said. “Just getting focused with that…only having one thing to do on Pro Day and being able to work with my receivers up at school that are coming out. Putting everything I have into that aspect of it.”
LeFevour said his decision was not based on the fact that Bradford and Clausen, considered the top two prospects at the position, will also not throw. LeFevour competed last month at Senior Bowl and has more game tape than just about any other passer in the draft. So NFL teams have a feel for what he can do throwing the ball at this point.
.“As a quarterback you look forward to the whole experience, not just one aspect of it,” LeFevour said of the combine. “You have to be well-rounded enough to handle it all. I’m looking to soak in everything that’s going to come at me.”
