The bloodletting of veteran players in Pittsburgh is apparently continuing, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Steelers will part ways with veteran defensive end Aaron Smith.
On Wednesday, the Steelers announced they were parting ways with 14-year veteran receiver Hines Ward.
Smith is scheduled to make $2.1 million in base salary in 2012, and he has been slowed by injuries in recent seasons.
Also, Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says the agent of veteran Steelers linebacker James Farrior fears that his client could be the next to go in Pittsburgh because of the team's salary cap issues.
"It's not a done deal, but the percentages just aren't there," long-time agent Ralph Cindrich told the paper.
