The New England Patriots will have their primary receiving option available for the season-opener against Miami.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski, recovering from a torn ACL, told reporters, via ESPN.com, that he will be ready to play Week 1. He added he won't play 100 percent of the workload but that he'll be able to participate a good bit.
This is good news for the Patriots, though this has been expected. It's also a reason the Patriots held out Gronkowski during the preseason. Risking further injury would not have been smart, and it appears the strategy worked well.
