The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a four-year, $39 million contract, a league source confirmed.

The deal includes a $12.5 million signing bonus.

Shields gets a two-year payout of $21 million and $30 million in the first three years.

Shields intercepted four passes last season, tying his career-high.

He played last season under a $2.023 million restricted free agent tender.

"I think Sam has been a good player for us, and he does a good job," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said during the combine. "And he's one of the fellas we'd like to have back."
