Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been suspended one year for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.
Initially, NFL Network reported incorrectly that the suspension was for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy. That's not the case with Browner taking to Twitter to point that out, writing: "I'm not facing suspension for PEDs, it's sad that the NFL is reporting this."
Browner was suspended for four games last year for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.
He has already exhausted the appeals process for this latest violating of the NFL drug policy.
As a pending unrestricted free agent, Browner isn't expected to return to the Seahawks organization and has played his last game with the NFC West club.
With Browner suspended and dealing with a groin injury and cornerback Walter Thurmond suspended for the next four games for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy, the Seahawks need cornerbacks and have reached out to veteran defensive back Antoine Winfield.
Winfield, 36, intercepted three passes last season for the Minnesota Vikings.
