The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed wide receiver John Matthews off waivers, according to a league source.
The Indianapolis Colts released Matthews on Tuesday.
Matthews spent time last year on the Colts' practice squad.
Signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in April after going undrafted out of the University of San Diego, Matthews was signed to the Colts' practice squad on Sept. 6 after being cut during the final major roster cutdown.
In four college seasons, Matthews caught 195 passes for 3,615 yards and 50 touchdowns.
As a senior, he caught 102 passes for 1,478 yards and 21 touchdowns.
