Houston Texans first-round cornerback Kareem Jackson's five-year deal carries a maximum value of $16.3 million, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Jackson's guaranteed money is worth a total of $10.35 million.

Jackson recorded 159 career tackles and five interceptions as a three-year starter at Alabama, deflecting 29 career passes before declaring early for the NFL draft.

Known as a fundamentally sound cornerback and a willing tadckler, the 5-foot-10, 196-pounder runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.

He's projected to start immediately.
