New York Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas has called his teammates' commitment into question.
Thomas is frustrated with the Giants' 0-6 win-loss record, but wonders why his teammates aren't as fed up.
“I think some are,” Thomas told the New York Daily News. “I think some don’t care.”
Thomas didn't name names, but said teammates aren't taking the mounting losses hard enough.
“Yeah, everybody’s different,” Thomas said. “Some people can lose a game and go about their day very easily. Others can’t sleep that night. I’m one of those guys. I got home at 4:30, probably didn’t go to sleep until about 6. I was just laying in bed.
“When you’re 0-6 it’s everything. It’s the coaches. It’s the players. It’s team harmony. All that effort, ----, that don’t matter. We’re professionals. That comes naturally. It’s the game we’re paid for. But right now our jobs are on the line so we better bring the effort. The coaches better coach hard. They better put us in better situations. The players have to make plays. That’s how we’re looking at it. That’s how it’s going to be around here.”
What does Giants coach Tom Coughlin think about how the players are reacting?
“If they’re not, they’re not smart enough to figure it out,” Coughlin said. “I think the majority of the guys in the room are very much aware and frustrated.”
