The Houston Texans say that newly signed safety Ed Reed's hip injury that led to surgery and will keep him out of OTAs is not a big deal, according to the Houston Chronicle.
“I think this was a minor procedure,” Texans owner Bob McNair said. “…He doesn’t need as much as the other guys, so I think he’ll be OK.”
The hip wasn't an issue when Reed took his physical before signing with the Texans, and Coach Gary Kubiak doesn't expect it to linger.
“No, we didn’t expect it, but it started bothering him,” Kubiak said. “He has had this issue on the other side before so once it started happening, that’s when we got aggressive on what we need to do to get him ready to play the season."
