The Minnesota Vikings went to the deadline and then they made sure they had their first-round draft pick in training camp on time.
The club has signed left tackle Matt Kalil, the fourth overall pick in the draft, to a four-year contract on the day players report to training camp in Mankato, Minn. The deal ensures Kalil will be there from the start and avoids any possible distractions.
Kalil gets a four-year contract and according to Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, it includes a guaranteed fourth year, an issue for unsigned picks in the top of the draft.
