It was a rocky season for New England Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas.

And it's expected to be his final one in New England.

During a radio interview with Boston station 98.5 FM, Thomas outlined the rift between himself and coach Bill Belichick. He described a meeting following the season-opener against the Buffalo Bills.

"I had a meeting and I really didn't understand some of the stuff I was told," Thomas said today. "So I knew at that point, it was bigger than what was on the surface. It was bigger than that. You guys watch the games. I was used totally different this year than I was last year before I broke my arm.

"And even last year, before I came back, I was told that I was going to be used differently. And so with that being the case, I don't know if that's really how you do it. It was the play of the Buffalo game, whether or not it was sufficient. I really didn't understand it. I didn't understand, it was the first game back, the way some stuff went down."

Thomas characterized the meeting as confusing and his tenure in New England as a "roller-coaster."

And he said that he has had no communication with team officials since the season ended.

Thomas was deactivated for the Patriots' game against the Tennessee Titans.

He was one of the so-called Tardy Four who arrived late for work due to a snowstorm and were sent home. He was deactivated that week, too.

Thomas stuck with his guns, saying he followed team rules by informing the team he wasn't going to be on time due to traffic and the weather.

"I don't know if you can say you weren't wanted," Thomas said. "I definitely didn't have fun. It was definitely a frustrating year.

"If I have a problem with someone, I'll go to them and say whatever. I don't understand it, bro. It's mind-boggling."

When asked if he wanted to be back, Thomas made it pretty clear that he doesn't anticipate being in a Patriots uniform in 2010.

"I want to come somewhere where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna have fun," Thomas said. "If I'm not gonna do that, that's not where I'm gonna be."
