The Cleveland Browns are considering using wide receiver and kick returner Josh Cribbs as a running back, according to offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

Daboll rushed for 3,670 yards and a school-record 38 touchdowns as an all-purpose quarterback at Kent State.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cribbs ran six times after taking a direct snap in the Wildcat formation and gained 45 yards for a 7.5-yard average.

"You can run those types of plays with a guy like that, but it takes time," Browns coach Eric Mangini said. "It takes a lot of work by the player and the group to get that. It's something that we've done a little bit of. Josh has played a lot of different roles with the Wildcat and receiver, so you have to build the package as you go."

Daboll said the Browns would like to use the Wildcat even more.

""Yeah, I think anytime you can get the ball in Josh's hands, even if they give you a good look the one time, you've got to give another him another chance, another couple chances," Daboll said. "I've said this before, he's dynamic with the ball in his hands."
