Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable acknowledged today that he has conducted a conversation with owner Al Davis regarding allegations that Cable has a background of domestic violence.

However, he declined to elaborate on the details of that discussion.

"What we talked about is between us and we'll keep it that way," said Cable, adding that his job security wasn't broached and that he plans to coach the Raiders for the rest of their schedule.

Since the report that became public Sunday revealed allegations that Cable reportedly abused his first wife, Sandy Cable, and a former girlfriend, Marie Lutz, the Raiders have said they are conducting a "serious evaluation" of the coach's conduct.

Cable has admited that he hit his former wife with an open hand two decades ago, denying any other wrongdoing or violence.

Meanwhile, defensive end Greg Ellis underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured knee and it's unclear when he'll return.
