Dick Jauron has reportedly been fired.

According to NFL.com, the Buffalo Bills have dismissed their head coach.

Per the report, defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is the pick to become the head coach on an interim basis.

Jauron has a record of 24-33 with the Bills and never made the playoffs.

The Bills (3-6) have been drawing criticism with veteran defensive end Aaron Schobel openly wondering what's going on with the organization on Monday.

"It's embarrassing," Schobel said. "I mean, we're technically, mathematically still in it, I guess, but it's like what ... are we doing here?"

Apparently, he wasn't the only one who felt that way with owner Ralph Wilson taking action today to remove Jauron from the equation.

It's hard to say if Jauron's subtraction, though, will trigger any positive change.

UPDATE: Bill owner Ralph Wilson has confirmed the firing to the Buffalo News, but said the team hasn't hired an interim coach yet.

A league source told National Football Post that Wilson caught the team off guard with this decision and that general manager Russ Brandon wasn't initially aware of the development.

Per our source, Wilson has been frustrated with the lack of an explosive passing game despite the presence of wide receivers Terrell Owens and Lee Evans. Our source told us that Wilson has been meeting with offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt every Friday to discuss the problems with the offense.

And our source reiterated that no decision has been made yet on an interim coach, so the rudderless Bills have no head coach at this time.
