FIVE QUESTIONS FROM THE READERS....

FROM CHAUNCY..... Mike, you should get a hold of your ex-boss Mike Shanahan. Tell him to trade for De Shaun Foster. San Francisco has no interest in playing him. He would be a star in Shanahan's offense. Denver needs a quality back for the remainder of the season. The guys a gamer.

Chauncy, the trading deadline has passed and there is no way for the Broncos to get Foster from the 49ers.  When the 49ers signed him last offseason, it seemed like a strange signing, but like all the moves the 49ers have made in the past few years, they are all Mike Nolan's fault.  The accountability of the others who were helping Mike build the team is staggering.  And each time I hear Singletary say he wants a tough team made of winners, I wonder if was he saying those same things in all the personnel meetings?

As for the Broncos, they decided the best thing for their team is to bring back Tatum Bell, who had his best years in Denver.  Forgetting the off the field problems, (I know they are hard to forget), but since Denver is a nickel team and Bell is an outstanding nickel runner, on the outside, he might be able to help the Broncos depleted backfield.

FROM GUS....Did you see the confrontation on the field last night between Mike Singletary and Mike Martz, is that normal?

No, it is not normal.  But the Mike Singletary sideline is not normal in the NFL.  He brings his emotional style to the game and he is not afraid to show it.  Mike Martz wants to have autonomy to run his offense and I am sure that he did not appreciate Mike Singletary coming over and making recommendations.  Martz can be emotional and he is not afraid to speak his mind.  Let’s face it, this marriage won't last very long and it would not surprise me if it didn’t last until the end of the year.  Good thing that Bob Lamonte, the agent for Martz and Singletary, is a very good peace maker.

FROM COL. BILL... Is there a way for the Chiefs to pull out of the losing “death-spiral” they are in, having lost 16 of their last 17 games? How does head coach Herm Edwards motivate and teach winning in his locker room when the players damn well know they’re having a tough time winning?

I think the competitive nature of the last three games helps Herman "Let's Build Something Together" Edwards sell his team on the fact that they are headed in the right direction.  But losing is contagious as is winning, and they need to show the NFL they can win a game very soon.  They need to learn like all of us in life, you have to become good, before you get great.  He needs to win one of these two remaining home games against the Saints and the Bills.  He needs to show his team that he and his staff are prepared each week.  There has to be more attention to detail and more demanding of excellence from the staff.  He needs to be unhappy and show his unhappiness with the losing, because if the team suspects he is content with being close, he will lose the team.

FROM NANCY O....What do you think of the Ty Law signing by the Jets?

Strange.  Law is being paid two million from the Chiefs and any income from the Jets is a bonus.  But for me, I am not a big fan of the overall skill level of Mr. Law right now.  My hunch here is that the Jets feel they are a Super Bowl contender and want to make sure they have a veteran corner.  Justin Miller was a huge disappointment for them and Law will know the scheme.  But if he has to play any man to man, watch out.

FROM TOM... Why can't the second biggest line in football have any push? It seems like every team knows where the Eagles play is going way before the ball is snapped.  Andy keeps saying week after week "I have to put them in a better position to win" Well after ten years when will that happen?

I am not sure it will happen this year and while the Eagles offensive line is big, they are not overly talented.  They are not powerful and they lack explosion for run blocking.  Add in the fact that they don't have any tight ends that can block even A LITTLE, and it makes it very hard to run.

FIVE QUESTIONS FROM ME....

1.  Do you think the 49ers will come out next week and play the Rams with the same intensity and effort as they did last night?  If the 49ers don't beat the Rams, they will tune Mike Singletary out.

2.  Do you think Mike Leach from Texas Tech would be a good fit for the University of Tennessee?

3.  Do you think the Bengals will make any changes this offseason?  Check out this link about the fans in Cincinnati and how fed up they are right now.  You have to check this out.

4.  What is your favorite old school helmet?  Mine is this one...

5.  Who from the NFC East will not make the playoffs?  And will the NFC South have three teams that make the playoffs?
