Raheem Morris drops F-bomb in his postgame press conference

You have to wonder of Raheem Morris’ grip on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is slipping a little bit.

The Bucs were smashed 38-19 on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium by the Carolina Panthers, and Morris dropped an F-bomb in his postgame locker room, the kind of four-letter word we don’t use at the National Football Post.

Morris was discussing his ejection of defensive tackle Brian Price from the game. Instead of dealing with a third-and-13 at their own 16-yard line, the Panthers picked up a first down from the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and went on to score a touchdown on the drive.

According to Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times, Morris said he told Price to head home.

Yes, I sent him to the locker room,'' Morris said. "I told him go home. F---. Yeah. Because it's foolish, it's selfish to your teammates, to everybody in your organization, to your fans. That's terrible. That's just selfish behavior to get a 15-yard penalty, in that situation, when that's all we talk about, when that's all we discuss. You just can't do that to your team.

"When you give up a penalty, after a third-and-15, those are things that are not smart, not fair to anybody on the football team. Not fair to anybody that's coaching that football team. Those things are unacceptable.''

What also is not acceptable is the six-game losing streak the Bucs are riding. The team is heading in the wrong direction and Morris has precious little time to get the pirate ship righted. You have to wonder if the message is still reaching the players.
