Report: Desmond Bishop visiting Vikings on Tuesday

That did not take long.

The Green Bay Packers officially released linebacker Desmond Bishop this afternoon, and he is now scheduled to visit the Minnesota Vikings beginning Tuesday. Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin reported the news.

Bishop, who had not yet been cleared to return to the field by the Packers after sitting out all last season with a torn hamstring tendon, could provide some quality depth for the NFC North rival. If Bishop is healthy, it would be surprising if he did not push for a starting job.

The Vikings begin their mandatory three-day veteran minicamp on Tuesday. Who knows? Maybe Bishop will be in uniform for them.
