Report: Will Witherspoon in contact with Falcons, Rams

Two teams are reportedly seeking the services of veteran linebacker Will Witherspoon — one new squad and one that's familiar.

According to television station WJHG, Witherspoon has been in contact with the St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons about a potential contract. No deal has been reached at this time.

Witherspoon has played 12 years in the NFL after a standout collegiate career at Georgia. He was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2002 draft and stayed in Carolina for his first four seasons. He's had stints with the Rams, Eagles and TItans also.

A year ago, Witherspoon was with the Rams and started all 16 regular season games.
