From Mike Klis of The Denver Post: Friction between Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler and head coach Josh McDaniels appears to be turning into a full-fledged feud. According to a source close to Cutler, the quarterback and McDaniels exchanged words during a meeting Saturday. Attending the meeting were Cutler, his agent Bus Cook, McDaniels and Broncos general manager Brian Xanders. The Broncos say no ultimatums were given during the meeting, which was characterized as cordial with no raised voices. However, no reconciliation was reached. "There was a brief meeting Saturday morning and we agreed to regroup and continue to have conversations," a Broncos spokesman told The Denver Post this morning. "The Broncos reinforced to Jay and his agent that they have been honest with them since Day One." The breakdown came just as it appeared Cutler and McDaniels were moving toward mending their relationship. Cutler returned to Denver late last week from Nashville, where he has spent most of his offseason. With McDaniels holding his first team meeting at 8 a.m. Monday, Cutler not only had planned to attend but had agreed to a pre-emptive meeting with his new coach and general manager. Cutler apparently didn't like what he heard and it is now doubtful he will attend the team meeting Monday, according to the source. Cutler has been unhappy since learning his name came up in a trade proposal that would have sent him to Tampa Bay in a three-team swap that would have brought Matt Cassel, McDaniels' former quarterback in New England, to Denver. Cutler has said he is not bothered by the trade proposal itself, but rather how Broncos officials have misled him. McDaniels has said the Broncos merely listened to offers submitted from other teams, as they do for all players. At this point, the Broncos are not entertaining the idea of trading Cutler.

I would not be surprised to see Cutler being traded to Detroit for the #1 pick in the draft. Detroit needs a QB and has expressed interest in Cutler. The Kid Koach could exact some revenge against Cutler for being a renegade by trading him to the NFL Armpit City & Team.

And the real estate is cheaper in Deetroit.

What a whiny little girl cutler is. He is acting like he has been successful and done something meaningful as a qb. Good personal stats and a losing team record is a joke.

Word is that Cutler allegedly was already on the out and out when Bates left for USC. Being dangled for trade bait only made it worse.

Listen, you people should understand both sides. I get why Cutler is upset, but at the same time no player is bigger than the team. Let's not forget that after the pair of 400 yrd games by matt cassel, tom brady and the word trade started to go hand in hand. What a joke huh?

When the Broncos drafted Cutler they let him know he was the franchise QB and the face of the team. Its DEN's fault he has an ego, they built him up. All people have egos, it's just in the media is why his is a big deal. Although DEN has been next to abismal the past cpl seasonsn its not all of Cutler. Without a team of consistent players, no QB would win. TEAM. Get used to it people.

It should come as no shock that DEN's DEF was atrocious. Not to mention their running game consisted of....Peyton Hillis..? Are you serious right now,

He made the pro bowl. He was the scab on a bleeding DEN squad. I hope he's traded.

This way he can come to a team that is a Jay Cutler away from the SB, my MIN Vikings.

Welcome to the Patriot way, Jay. Either get on board or get lost. Quit whining. Remember Drew Bledsoe? McDaniel has seen this all before. Big strong arm with nothing between the ears.

Drew Bledsoe was the face of the Pats for a decade leading them to a Super Bowl appearance in 1996. He gave the fans something to cheer about after years of losing.

Bledsoe lost his job to Brady in 2001 but never complained to the media. He wasn't a whiny, cry baby like Cutler (who hasn't even done anything).

Bledsoe's a class act - don't compare him to Cutler.

All this welcome to the Patriot way has to make me laugh. What has happened in New England is the exception and not the rule.

I have to also laugh when I see these Coaches want to act like it is them that wins the games. It has been and always will be the players that win the games.

Give an average coach great players and he becomes great. Give a great coach average players and he becomes average.

I love what has been going on in Denver and so does the entire AFC West. And remember coaches are a dime a dozen but Pro Bowl Franchise Quarterbacks do not grow on trees. Just ask the 80% of the teams in the NFL that have been and are still looking for one.

I agree with Dave. When Brady sprained his knee in the '01 AFC championship game, Bledsoe stepped right in and never missed a beat. A lot of credit goes to him for putting the team ahead of his own personal bitterness to the point where he was 100% prepared. That is a real CLASS act.
