Source: Bills promoting Brandon Smith to active roster

The Buffalo Bills are promoting defensive back Brandon Smith today from the practice squad to the active roster, according to a league source.

Smith joined the Bills after being released by the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 1 T

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Arizona State product entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers two years ago.

The former Arizona State player had a previous stint with the Seattle Seahawks.
