The Philadelphia Eagles are in the mix for free agent defensive end Aaron Kampman.
According to a league source, Kampman is expected to visit with the Eagles in the very near future.
Widely regarded as the consolation prize for the team that can’t land big-fish Julius Peppers, Kampman would be a solid complement to Eagles Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole in Philly’s 4-3 defense.
An eight-year veteran out of Iowa, Kampman was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2002. He recorded 3.5 sacks for the Pack in 2009 before suffering a season-ending knee injury halfway through the season.
From 2006-2008, Kampman racked up 37 sacks for the Packers in 47 starts.
Update: Now a report is coming in that Kampman has changed his mind and will not visit with the Philadelphia Eagles.
