Source: Vikings try out Joe Lefeged

The Minnesota Vikings worked out former Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged, according to a league source.

Lefeged has 66 career tackles and two interceptions in three NFL seasons.

The former Rutgers player was released by the Colts earlier this season.

He was arrested in late June in Washington, D.C.. after fleeing police during a traffic stop and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, having an unregistered firearm, having unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol.

He was later released on his own recognizance without bail.
