The following message was recently posted at the top of Sportsnet.ca’s “columns” page:
“Portions of freelance writer Chris Landry’s columns published recently on Sportsnet.ca contained verbatim passages from columns that were previously published on nationalfootballpost.com. Mr. Landry’s columns will no longer be published on our site. Sportsnet.ca apologizes to our readers and to nationalfootballpost.com.”

That's why the one article in particular really proved the point for me - for two people, irregardless of background, to generate two virtually exact lists of obscure football statistics, in the same order, using the same verbiage, sentence structure and punctuation four days apart makes the odds of winning the lottery look like a coin toss.
I hope they sent some actualy compensation. An apology doesn't really cover the money their business made by posting NFP.com articles as their own.

I read some of Landry's articles from a couple years ago when Lombardi was still working for a team rather than writing articles (link in name). Their writing style and choice of words is eerily similar. Not saying he didn't plagiarize but there's obvious a common foundation for thought and way of expressing it between the two.
