Three days until Week 7 gets underway, so it’s time for us to start checking out those rosters and breaking down the best possible matchups.  Here is your first weekly segment of Start Em vs. Sit Em.  What are your thoughts on these two players?

START EM

Dominic Rhodes    RB    Indianapolis Colts:  That was fast.  Just a couple of days ago, Rhodes was chillin on waivers, just waiting to get called up to the show.  Now, he finds himself featured in the “Start Em” section.  Talk about moving up in the world.  All jokes aside, it looks like Colts’ starter Joseph Addai is going to be on the shelf for the next 2-4 weeks.  In addition, rookie running back Mike Hart was just placed on IR with an injured knee, ending his season.  That leaves the workload to Rhodes.  While he didn’t roll up an impressive yards per carry average last week in relief of Addai (2.9), he was going up against the league’s top defense in the Baltimore Ravens and he was still able to post the best performance by a RB against them to date.  This Sunday, Rhodes gets a crack at the 27th ranked run defense in the league (Green Bay), who is allowing 153.3 YPG so far in 2008.  Start Em.

SIT EM

Ronnie Brown    RB    Miami Dolphins:  I know all of the Brown owners in the house won’t be happy to see this, but Sunday against the Ravens is not favorable matchup for Miami’s premiere player.  Even after being scorched by the Colts in Indy last weekend, Baltimore is still the NFL’s top run, pass and total defense.  They are allowing only 66.4 yards per game on the ground, and have not allowed a 100+ yard rusher dating back to the 2006 season.  The best fantasy performance a running back has put up on this nightmare of a defense was (you guessed it) Dominic Rhodes last Sunday, when he picked up 73 yards on 25 carries with one score.  You like how I tied the two together?  Probably not, because it really isn’t that funny and/or interesting.  Either way, Sit Em.

Hi Joe -

Who would you prefer to start next week -

A Peterson (vs Chi) or L Johnson (vs Ten.)?

Also who do you like between Fargas and Dunn for the rest of the year?

Thanks

Hey Joe

I have the following RB's - Steve Slaton, Steven Jackson, Jonathon Stewart, and Reggie Bush.

Which 2 would you start? I was thinking Slaton is a shoe in because of the match up against Detroit.

Let me know what you think??

Thanks Joe

What up Joe!

With McNabb, D.Jackson and Westbrook on my roster, Week 7's bye has removed many of my starting line-up options. Roster limit is 12 but I'm able to flag B West as "injured" so, via that technicality, I have 13 on my roster right now.

For QB, I have Trent Edwards.

For RB's, I have M.Lynch, Slaton, J.Stewart

For WR/TE's, I have L. Evans, S. Smith (Car), Antonio Gates, B. Stokley.

K is Bironas and D is Ravens.

This is a p-p-r league and I have to start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 D and 2 Flex. I'm thinking about:

QB-Edwards
RB-Lynch
RB-Slaton
WR/TE-Evans
WR/TE-Smith
Flex1-Stewart
Flex2-Gates.

The one option I'm considering is possibly Stokely in place of Gates for Flex2. What's your recommendation?

Thanks Joe! Keep up the awesome work on NFP!!!!!

utwrenn: i'd hold on to moore. he had another good game last week. you drop him now, he will be picked up immediately.

Pras, I like Peterson. Drafting him in the top 2 means you never sit him, no matter what the matchup. As of right now, I actually like Dunn. His team is better and they normally dont have to spend the second half throwing the football to play catch up.

Danny: i like slaton and steven jackson

Brian D: what's up man? glad you like the site. I love the way you have the lineup set right now. The only recommendation I would make, is the one you mentioned. New england doesnt have a strong pass defense and the Chargers seem to have some trouble on the East Coast. Good luck.

Scooter: glad i can help. its my pleasure. Wow, that is a tough decision. I like Grant in the lineup because he goes against the Indy run D. However, I would hate to leave Evans on the bench because San Diego has a weak passing defense. Id say go grant because I think he gives you a better shot at points than Evans. tough call though

Tyler: I'd go with Rhodes in a tight one over Evans

I have E. Manning and D. Anderson and guess what? Pick up the wrong guy last week. Do I stay with my stud this week or give Anderson a chance?

Also, who will you choose between Reggie Wayne, TO, Andre Johnson and Steve Smith (Don't why they let me all those guys when it was my turn to speak!!!)

Thanks!

why do all you people need to ask Joe who to start! Be a man and make your decisions on your own. Its the only way you'll ever get good at fantasy anyways. Just do your research and make an educated guess. That's all Joe does. It goes the same everywhere.
