With Sunday’s action in the books, the fantasy playoffs are ready to begin. How did everyone’s teams perform yesterday? I’m sure most owners weren’t exactly pleased with the monsoons that swept the entire eastern seaboard on Sunday, making it slow going for most fantasy players. For those of you who didn’t read the “Sunday Special” yesterday, the National Football Post and the Hardcore Fantasy Show on Sirius Satellite Radio are teaming up to bring you a “College Bowl Pick Em” challenge. It will operate just like the “Turkey Day Special” where readers will leave their picks through a comment each time I post a Bowl article. The first article will appear the day of the first bowl game.

General Manager Question Of The Day: What was the main reason for the New York Jets loss yesterday? My feeling is that they got caught checking out their own press clippings and overlooked Denver. What are your thoughts?
STUD
DeAngelo Williams RB Carolina Panthers: D-Will is becoming a regular in the Studs column and for good reason: the guy has been an absolute beast lately. He only carried 21 times for 72 yards but added FOUR TOUCHDOWNS in Carolina’s thrilling 35-31 come-from-behind victory at Green Bay. If you watched any of this game you saw just how important Williams is to the Panthers’ offense, especially on the goal line. All four of D Dubs touchdowns came from the 1 yard line, which gives Carolina the comfort of knowing that when they need to convert on short yardage situations, it’s basically in the bag. Williams has now scored at least one touchdown in six straight games and has found pay dirt seven times in his last three outings. He’s starting to make a case for Stud of the Year.
DUD
Matt Cassel QB New England Patriots: Playing in a downpour against the NFL’s #1 defense is a recipe for disaster. Just look at Cassel’s bottom line for proof. One of the league’s hottest quarterbacks fell flat on his face yesterday, as Cassel only completed 19 of 39 passes for 169 yards, NO touchdowns and two interceptions. Just for good measure, he fumbled the ball away twice, further burying fantasy owners in a mess sloppier than the field during the Florida/Florida State game on Saturday. The good news for fantasy owners is that if you made it to the playoffs, you can count on Cassel to rally back from yesterday’s performance. New England’s final four games come against Seattle, Oakland, Arizona and Buffalo. He’ll be back.
DUD - Portis. I figured he would step up in light of Taylor/Ring of Fame honors. No such luck. He was completely ineffective while Forte was wasted on my bench. Now I need Slaton to reach Stud status tonight in order to pull off the win.
yeh i need mjd amd daniels to go off tonight for combined 50 points to win tonight. chances of that happening, as likely as me having the ability to travel back in time to remove addai from my line up.
Dud of the week gets a milk carton vote as well. Where was Vincent Jackson for the Chargers yesterday? Zero catches for zero yards. And I didn't get any help from Addai either, but still comfortably won my Fantasy matchup thanks to Westbrook's Thanksgiving performance, and a wise move plumping for the Bills D over the Bears.
London: you're dead on about the Chargers. They stunk yesterday.
My absolute dud of the week is Peyton Manning. How can he disappear against Cleveland? Going to have to sweat out tonight's game to see if I can pull out a win.
It seems like everyone is going to be sweating tonight's matchup. Nothing like a panic attack to start your week, am I right boys?
I personally will be hoping for a lackluster performance from MJD.
Looking forward to the playoffs next week, do I really bench LT and Addai for LJ and Peyton Hillis?
Joe! I'm in agony. My team had the worst performance of the year. I had the worst coaching performance of the year. I chose the wrong defenses and the wrong receivers! Anyway my question is this I'm locked in a tie with the guy I'm playing. I need this to make the playoffs. I have Maurice Jones-Drew and I'm playing Steve Slaton and Kevin Walter. What are my chances of winning? I think its slim. Thank you
Matt: I'm not sure I would do that, but its worth considering. Both LT and Addai have good matchups, but Hillis and LJ have even better ones. The key will be the weather in Denver.
Jon: You've got a shot, but its a slim on. You need an MJD 3 TD day to make this one work out.
I'd love to say im rooting for you, but I have Slaton playing in two leagues tonight and I need MJD to tank in another.
Hopefully at least one of us pulls out the win!
After a blow-out win this weekend, I have officially made the playoffs in both of my leagues. Thanks for all the advice, Joe, you have been a great advantage for me over the other guys.
Michael C: It's great to hear you're playoff bound in not one, but two leagues. I'm glad the advice worked out for you and thanks for reading!!

DWill is the weekend stud in my book. Dud for the week is me for benching him for Joseph Addai who absolutely killed me yesterday. The pain got harder and harder while watching that ugly colts/brown game and seeing DWill's stats along the ticker. 2-4-1 since starting 5-1 and some how i am still holding on to the last playoff spot. oh one more dud or maybe a new addition to this column, idiot of the week: burress. you kind of get the feeling he wants to be like TO, always making a fool of himself.
