Titans go heavy on IR, get down to 53

The Tennessee Titans reached the 53-man roster limit by cutting 17 players, putting five on injured reserve and placing receiver Kenny Britt on the suspended list.

Among the five placed on injured reserve per TitanInsider.com were defensive end Dave Ball, cornerback Terrence Wheatley, guard Ryan Durand, linebacker Kevin Malast and defensive end Leger Douzable. In addition, rookie defensive end Scott Solomon had his knee scoped, but remains on the 53-man roster.

Those players waived by the Titans included WR Devin Aguilar, TE Brandon Barden, DT Zach Clayton, G Kyle DeVan, DT Lamar Divens, S Aaron Francisco, TE Cameron Graham, CB Chris Hawkins, G Michael Jasper, WR James Kirkendoll, FB Collin Mooney, C Chris Morris, WR Michael Preston, DE Malcolm Sheppard, S Tracy Wilson, WR DJ Woods.

Several of those - including Clayton, Augilar, Jasper, Mooney and Preston - are potential practice squad candidates.
