The National Football Post has learned that Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams has signed a one-year deal worth a good bit more than the $460,000 Williams was due as an exclusive rights free agent.  Williams will receive a salary of $525,000 and a signing bonus of $375,000 for a one-year compensation total of $900,000.

More on this story to come.

Saw this coming, good job Teddy. Tramon is Mccarthy's new crush, he can't speak high enough about him. Tramon's in for a big day in the very near future, guy deserves it.

This is good. He could probably start on a lot of teams.

one year deal must mean Tramon is confident that he'll kick ass this year and be in line for a big contract next season, or middle of this season. Sounds good to me!

i like the tt lovers that think 6 10 last year will mean a division title this year after another losing season in 2009 tt needs to go

I like how the "tt haters" automatically think the team was as bad as 6-10 and they're in for the same luck. Four Pro Bowl quality starters out a combined 30+ games, 2 missed GW kicks, and a vanilla defensive scheme amoung the least of it all but guarantees you a tough season.

Are they division winners...? Maybe, maybe not... but there's no reason to believe that this team healthy, with better depth (mainly from draft), and a tougher d-scheme (even if it's not run at 100%) can't return a similar form like they were two years ago.

gbjoe: your right and I bet all the Favre crotch sniffers would pee themselves when he becomes the new gm right?

jake was does tt have to do with favre ? last time i checked favre was retired. did favre play for the packers last year when we were 6 10 ? i thought tt was the gm of the packers, you know the guy that drafted justin harell and the guy that refuses to spend money in free agency. thompson is a terrible gm what that has to do with favre is beyond me. next year all you tt lovers will have more excuses but i hope at least you will leave favre out of them.

koition simply look at our 6 wins last year and see who we beat, the colts were the only decent team and they were on bad streak when we beat them. if we played 16 quality opponents last year we would have been 2 14 week 1 win against the vikes and win over the colts. we beat the lions twice the vikes colts the rams and the bears. thats impressive

gbjoe...hes a terrible GM? GIVE ME A BREAK. I am sure the TT Lovers would GLADLY leave Favre out of it when the TT Haters stop hating because of Favre.

Look the jury is still out on TT. Under his watch we've had a few good seasons and a bad one. Some people can only see the bad one and assume that is the way things are going to go...others see the success in previous years and know this team is set up for a nice improvement. All I know is TT has put together a young team that saw early success in 2007, a setback in 2008 and now hopefully a return to success in 2009.

gbjoe - They don't make the schedule, they can't help who they play or what division they are in... Same can be said for the division opponents who barely had a better record.

But when you really think about it, how close was this team from winning the division? Fact is, just inches. Crosby makes the kicks vs MN and CHI, GB is 8-8 and wins the division in a tie-breaker. Then nobody is talking about how bad 6-10 is... Coulda, shoulda...? Yes, but there's your difference between 6-10 and a division winner.
