Vikings sticking with Christian Ponder
Christian Ponder will once again get the starting nod when the Vikings play the Packers this week.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier made the announcement Wednesday, via the Vikings' website.
“We are looking forward to him leading our team to victory, and other guys around him stepping up,” Frazier said.
The Vikings have had a quarterback mess this season, featuring three signal callers that all were once considered young up-and-comers.
Ponder has a rocky season but has shown potential at times. Matt Cassel made the Pro Bowl in 2011 and had a decent couple of years with Kansas City. Josh Freeman was the quarterback of Tampa Bay's future before falling out of favor with Bucs coach Greg Schiano.
Ponder has shown some grit and toughnes, though that isn't always enough to overcome on-field deficiencies.
