Virgin Airlines apologizes to Geno Smith

Virgin Airlines issued an apology to Geno Smith after an incident on one of their airplanes.

It's unclear what exactly happened, but it's believed a dispute began between Smith and a flight attendant on board. It's possible it was over the use of headphones before takeoff.

“After a full review of the incident, we believe it was the result of a misunderstanding that regrettably escalated unnecessarily,” the Virgin Airlines statement said. “We’ve apologized to Mr. Smith for his experience, which could have been better — and we’d welcome him back onboard any time. As an airline that prides itself on our guest service, we take incidents such as this one very seriously.”

Ultimately, whether he was booted or left on his own, Smith was not on board once the plane took off. But with some time and an apology, Smith said he'll be a customer in the future.

“I really appreciate that Virgin America took this seriously, looked into this matter and followed up with me,” Smith said in a statement via the Jets. “I look forward to flying their airline again soon.”
