Welker likely to miss mandatory work

Wes Welker has not signed his franchise tender, and will likely stay away from mandatory mini-camps without a long-term deal, according to ESPNBoston.com.

Asked on ESPN Radio in Boston if he would attend mandatory workouts with the Patriots with no extension in place, Welker was diplomatic but made his point.

"I'm not 100 percent sure on that. I don't know if I will or not. I'm thinking I'm probably not going to (attend mandatory workouts), but things could change," Welker told Adam (We assume not Pacman) Jones of ESPN Boston Radio. "We'll just see how it all plays out."
