From the Boston Herald:

Vince Wilfork has not been in attendance at the Patriots’ voluntary workouts the past couple of weeks. And the team’s dominating nose tackle said today that there’s a chance he won’t be there when his teammates report for mandatory minicamp next week either.
“If I have to, I will,” he said of missing Wednesday’s first workout. “We’ll see.”
Wilfork’s absence has to do with his ongoing contract talks. The five-year veteran has one year remaining on the contract he signed as a rookie. While he wouldn’t go into any details of what might be holding up an agreement, he did characterize it as a day-to-day situation.
“I’m a professional. I don’t care how long I sit or I stay away from football,” he said. “When it’s time to go (back), I’m going to be ready to go. That’s something you’ll never have to question me on or call and check on me and see how I’m doing. Everything has to play its course and that’s what’s going on right now.
Ive been able to justify Lawyer Milloy and Ty Law and Asante Samuel and Mike Vrabel, but I will never be able to justify not resigning Wilfork. Ever.
