2010-11 Bowl Projections

After constant fine-tuning and much more deliberation, here are my final bowl projections before we officially find out which teams go where Sunday night.

Of course, I needed to make one last edit after Arizona State beat Arizona on Thursday night to finish at 6-6. While the Sun Devils are no lock to go bowling, they have applied to the NCAA for a bowl waiver (If a team has two wins over FCS teams, it really counts as one. However, ASU is arguing that it only played a second FCS team because San Jose State dropped out of a scheduled game late in the offseason). So, I do think Dennis Erickson’s squad will be in the postseason when all is said and done.

So let’s take a look at what the 2010-11 bowl season could look like — a projection of all 35 postseason games.

• Keep in mind that many of the bowls are not obligated to pick teams in precise order of the conference standings. For example, Big 12 No. 3 does not necessarily mean the third-place team in that conference; it means the third choice of Big 12 teams.
