ACC's first-round draft picks
Here is how the first round unfolded for the top prospects from the ACC.
12. Minnesota, Florida State QB Christian Ponder
The Vikings pulled the trigger on Christian Ponder at No. 12.
I've never been high on Ponder as an NFL prospect. He certainly is a smart kid who possesses good athleticism. But even if he stays healthy, I'm not sure if he can be a franchise quarterback. However, the Vikes liked him enough to take him at No. 12. Now it's up to Bill Musgrave and Co. to mold him into the future signal caller.
14. St. Louis, North Carolina DE Robert Quinn
Quinn gives the Rams very good value at No. 14, and he should be able to make an immediate impact as a pass rusher.
22. Indianapolis, Boston College OT Anthony Castonzo
I'm still very surprised that Castonzo lasted this long, as he was considered by many to be a Top 15 pick. Indy needed help on the offensive line, and Castonzo provides an NFL-ready option.
