Air Force star kicked out of school amid drug investigation
Asher Clark, who sits No. 2 among Air Force's all-time leading rushers, was kicked out of school less than a week before graduation as a result of an investigation into illegal drug use, according to The Gazette of Colorado Springs.
University spokesman David Cannon confirmed to the newspaper that the four-year starter is no longer enrolled but would not comment further because of the Privacy Act.
<p> According to the report, the school was aware that at least 15 students were possibly involved in illegal drug use. Its investigation ultimately expanded to include 31 cadets, some of whom were student-athletes.Clark rushed for 3,594 yards in his career, including 1,110 last year when he averaged 6.8 yards per carry. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native fell only 18 yards shy of quarterback Dee Dowis' all-time rushing record.
