Arkansas lands four-star Class of 2013 quarterback

Yet another top quarterback from the Class of 2013 has announced his college decision, as Austin Allen pledged to attend Arkansas on Monday.

The Fayetteville High School (Fayetteville, AR) star, who threw for 4,150 yards and 46 touchdowns in 2011 and led his school to a come-from-behind victory in the Class 7A state final game, chose the home-state Razorbacks after being offered by major schools such as North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Tennessee, among others. The Scout.com four-star quarterback is one of the top pro-style signal-callers in the country.

Allen is known for his good pocket presence, skills to keep plays alive with his feet and ability to make all of the necessary throws. His brother, Brandon, is a freshman quarterback for the Razorbacks, and his father, Bobby, has been an assistant coach at Arkansas for 15 years.

The Razorbacks' 2013 recruiting class also received a boost from two of Allen's teammates, as safety Alex Brignoni and linebacker Brooks Ellis each gave verbal commitments to John L. Smith and Co.
