Auburn adds to its strong 2013 class with DE Bower

Auburn added to its strong Class of 2013 on Tuesday when it received a verbal commitment from defensive end Tashawn Bower.

The 6-5, 241-pounder from Immaculata High School (Somerville, NJ) committed to the Tigers on Tuesday, adding to what is already a strong defensive line haul.

Tigers head coach Gene Chizik and his staff already hold verbal commitments from top defensive linemen Dee Liner and Carl Lawson, giving new defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder a few more talented pieces to work with when they arrive on The Plains next year. Liner projects to be a force inside as possibly the nation's best interior lineman while Lawson is arguably the top weakside defensive end in the 2013 class. Bower's strength is his ability to stop the run.

The Tigers already have a lot of youth returning up front this year, so bringing in even more top talent in this cycle shows the commitment that Chizik and his defensive staff are making to have an immense amount of depth along what is arguably the most important position in the SEC.

Bower's commitment gives Auburn 12 pledges in a Class of 2013 that I currently have ranked 12th in the country as we head into the middle of June.
