Bible study: Texas recruit confident in Longhorns
Talk about revving up the Red River Rivalry even more.
Check that, talk about stirring up the entire nation.
Texas recruit Taylor Bible, who is still strutting down his high school hallways until June, predicted this week that the Longhorns will not only win the next four matchups with Oklahoma, but also the next four BCS titles.
The 6-3, 300-pound defensive lineman, who is one of the gems of the Longhorns’ highly rated class, may even get the chance to back up his confidence on the field early next season.
According to the brash defender, Texas coaches have told him that he will play immediately.
“They told me that they wanted me to play my freshman year and not redshirt,” Bible said. “They said they need more defensive lineman, and they’d have me in a rotation.”
“What they’re hoping for me to do is come in during the summer and be able to catch on, adapt to the system and be in good shape that I could possibly start too.”
Bible is expected to arrive in Austin after his June graduation to enroll in summer classes and begin working out with the team. His journey to living up to his lofty goals will then begin in the hot Texas sun.
