On tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE vice president of talent relations/Raw and SmackDown general manager John Laurinaitis announced that Brock Lesnar, who returned to pro wrestling last Monday night, would face John Cena at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view in three weeks.
Laurinaitis invited Lesnar down to the ring to introduce "the new face of the WWE," but the former UFC champion was interrupted by Cena. Cena, who last week was the victim of an F-5, slowly came to the ring and proceeded to slap Lesnar in the face, and a melee ensued.
Dozens of WWE superstars and referees came to the ring to break up the brawl, which left Cena bleeding from the mouth. Lesnar was finally dragged out of the ring while a smiling Cena looked on.
The final segment of Raw then featured Cena getting attacked once again, this time after he defeated David Otunga. While his hand was raised, Cena was attacked from behind by Lesnar and hit with yet another F-5. As Lesnar left the ring, Laurinaitis was all smiles from his ringside seat.
Certainly, Cena and Lesnar have not seen the last of each other as they await their match at Extreme Rules in Chicago.
