DEA investigating Droughns for growing marijuana in home
Former NFL running back Reuben Droughns is under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency for growing marijuana inside his Colorado home.
According to FOX 31 in Denver, federal agents searched his home in Centennial and found a pot-growing operation in the former Denver Broncos running back’s spare bedrooms. Droughns is reportedly claiming that he is growing the pot for medicinal purposes, but the DEA is suspicious of the claim.
The report also states that Droughns regularly hosted poker games, raising suspicion as to if they crossed a legal line. However, the agents reportedly aren’t investigating Droughns for those allegations.
The former Oregon running back played in Denver from 2002-04 before being traded to the Cleveland Browns. In 2009 he was released by the New York Giants.
Droughns surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in 2004 with the Broncos.
