Fans are ready for LSU-Oregon showdown
While fans in Norman and Tallahassee cannot wait for the nonconference matchup between Oklahoma and Florida State on Sept. 17, there's one other gigantic contest that will take centerstage before the Sooners and Seminoles meet.
LSU and Oregon will lock horns on Sept. 3 at Cowboys Stadium in the "Cowboys Classic," and you better have your ticket in hand if you plan on attending the showdown in The House That Jerry Built. Because the game is sold out, according to Glenn Guilbeau of the Shreveport Times.
Rich Baker, who is the president of the Cotton Bowl that oversees the game, made the announcement last week at the SEC spring meetings. Cowboys Stadium seats 80,000 fans.
The Tigers are currently ranked No. 1 in the NFP's post-spring Top 25 while the Ducks occupy the No. 3 spot in the rankings after finishing as the national runner-up in 2010.
