Florida lands elite Class of 2014 cornerback

Chris Lammons, one of the best cornerbacks in the state of Florida, decided to remain in-state and commit to Will Muschamp and the Gators on Monday.

The athletic 5-10, 171-pounder from Plantation High School (Fort Lauderdale, FL) joins fellow cornerbacks J.C. Jackson and Duke Dawson in the Gators' Class of 2014.

Lammons, who is listed as a four-star prospect by all of the major recruiting services, chose Florida over major programs such as South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama. While he is raw and is considered by some recruiting analysts to be more of an athlete because he plays quarterback for his high school team, his quickness and speed figure to make him a solid cornerback prospect at the next level.

The Gators could be poised to have a monster recruiting day if they are able to land wide receiver Ermon Lane and defensive back Quincy Wilson later Monday when the Sunshine State pair announce their college choices. Florida is considered a favorite to land their services.
